72-Year-Old, 65-Year-Old Facing Marijuana Charges
Two San Bruno female senior citizens are facing charges for growing hundreds of weed plants
Two San Bruno women, described by a prosecutor as “two marijuana grannies,” are being held on allegations they were growing hundreds of marijuana plants in their home. Authorities say 72-year-old Aleen Lam and and a 65-year-old Virginia Chan Pon were arrested Friday after police were called by neighbors about a home burglary.
San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe says when officers arrived they found the front door of the home had been kicked in. Through the broken door, Wagstaffe says officers saw marijuana plants growing inside. After getting a warrant, police say they found 800 marijuana plants growing throughout the house.
