Lawsuit Filed To Stop Kern Co. Pot Plant Limit
A law limiting medical marijuana patients who grow their own pot is being challenged
A law limiting medical marijuana patients who grow their own pot in unincorporated areas of Kern County to 12 plants is being challenged in court. Two county residents and their cannabis cooperatives filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to delay and overturn an ordinance approved by Kern County lawmakers a week ago.
The Bakersfield Californian reports ( http://bit.ly/obz2dk) that the suit claims Kern supervisors exceeded their authority when they adopted the per-patient plant limit and prohibited pot collectives from operating storefront dispensaries because medical marijuana is legal under California law.
