Reward Offered in Marijuana Club Firebombing

Two men entered Capitola Healing Club on Saturday at 2:15 a.m. with a Molotov cocktail

Capitola Healers Association Owner Chris Morganelli says that there was no damage to any marijuana in the building, just to furniture and infrastructure

It took 25 minutes, Morganelli approximated, for the fire department to show up on scene. By that time, he had already put out the flames with a garden hose.

Morganelli said he suspects the act may have been done in a malicious act of rivalry.

“It feels like, to me, maybe a competitive motive,” he said. “Like any social movements, you have these acts, whether it was the Civil Rights Movement, women’s voting, gay rights, anything, you’re going to have this type of criminal activity. Especially since people don’t realize that cannabis is legal for medical cannabis patients, it still has that criminal action linked to it.”
